Siobhan Clifford Poole
Case Information & Details
Siobhan Clifford, identified as being from Seaview Road in Poole, UK, has been associated with two public criminal cases.
Case 1: Driving with a Controlled Drug
On February 26, 2023, Siobhan Clifford, then 36 years old, was caught driving a motor vehicle in Castle Lane West, Bournemouth, with a controlled drug (32mg/l of cocaine) above the specified limit. She admitted to this charge at Poole Magistrates' Court. As a result, Clifford was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £108, and ordered to pay £620 in prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £43. This information was reported on February 17, 2025.
Case 2: Dishonest Universal Credit Claims
Clifford, aged 37 at the time of reporting, received over £40,000 in dishonest Universal Credit claims. She falsely stated she had dependent children and no savings, despite having significant sums in her bank account. Her first dishonest claim was made on September 15, 2021, when her bank account held £107,755.33. A second claim was made when her balance was £180,863.48. Over three years, her fraudulent claims totaled £40,318.91.
Clifford pleaded guilty to dishonestly making a false statement to obtain a benefit, advantage, or payment on May 25 at Weymouth Magistrates' Court. The court heard that she had "high culpability" and was aware of her bank account balances when making the claims. Mitigating factors included her full admission of guilt and that she had "got herself involved with the wrong people and moved towards drugs," which led to her offending. Her defense stated she was clean, off drugs, no longer receiving Universal Credit, and back working.
Sentencing, Recorder Lumsdon KC noted her guilty plea at the first opportunity. Clifford was spared jail and instead received a 12-month community order and a number of rehabilitation activity requirement days. While no fine was imposed at the time, a later court date was adjourned to determine the amount she would be required to repay through confiscation proceedings. The court also noted that her prior conviction was for unrelated matters and had no bearing on this sentencing. This case was reported on June 30, 2026.
