Raymond Utley

Raymond Utley, a 59-year-old man from Eastern Avenue, Gainsborough, has been sentenced to 18 years and 11 months in prison for multiple sexual offenses. The sentencing took place at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Utley's crimes involved raping and sexually abusing his first victim when she was 14 years old, with offenses occurring in Doncaster, Barnsley, and Sheffield. He would provide the victim with alcohol and filmed himself sexually abusing her with a camcorder. This abuse had a traumatic impact on the victim for over two decades.

He pleaded guilty to several charges related to his first victim, including two counts of raping a female under the age of 16, three counts of indecent assault, and one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child. Law enforcement praised the bravery of the victims in reporting his crimes, which led to his charges and conviction.

Additionally, Utley admitted to assaulting two more children between 2021 and 2022. Detective Constable Mike Tilley of South Yorkshire Police highlighted Utley's exertion of power and control over his victim, causing psychological turmoil.
