Peshman Ahmedi, 22, has been charged with the murder of Tyler Hayward, 26, following a fatal stabbing in Chingford Mount Road, London, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 9:14 PM. Hayward sustained two stab wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by emergency services.
Ahmedi, of no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Port of Dover in Kent, following a large police operation. Reports indicate he attempted to leave the country via a boat that had briefly departed for Calais but returned to Dover, where police were waiting.
He was subsequently charged with murder on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Ahmedi appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court on the same day. He later appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday, July 14, 2025, where a plea hearing was set for September 29, 2025. A provisional trial date has been scheduled for April 27, 2026. An inquest into Tyler Hayward's death was opened at East London Coroner's Court on July 16, 2025, and subsequently adjourned pending the police investigation.
