Patrick Freethy

Public records indicate that an individual named Anthony Patrick Nigel Freethy, also known as Pat, was facing multiple charges related to historic sexual offenses in the UK. Freethy, aged 91 and residing at The Coombe, Newlyn, was scheduled to appear before Truro Magistrates' Court to address these allegations.

The charges against him included four counts of indecent assault involving a girl under 14 and another girl under 16. These alleged incidents spanned several periods: January 1973 to February 1977, March 1978 to February 1980, November 1976 to November 1977, and December 1981 to January 1983. Additionally, Freethy faced a single charge of attempted rape of a woman aged 16 or older, which was alleged to have occurred between December 1985 and January 1987.

Freethy was due in court on May 12, 2026, but he passed away recently, with his funeral taking place at Treswithian Downs Crematorium in Camborne on May 1, 2026. As a result of his death, he will not stand trial, although the court case had not been formally dismissed as of May 5, 2026. One alleged victim expressed anger and frustration that "no-one will know what he was so he really has got away with it".
