Karen Palmer Meols
Case Information & Details
Karen Palmer, 47, of Centurion Drive in Meols, UK, has been sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for domestic abuse offenses against her husband. She appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, July 3, 2026, where the sentence was handed down.
Palmer pleaded guilty to Section 18 wounding, a charge that followed a knife attack on her husband in March 2026. This incident led to paramedics being called to Dove Point Road in Meols on March 31, 2026, where they found her husband bleeding heavily with a deep laceration to his forearm and other injuries.
The court heard that the knife attack was the culmination of a 20-year period of "sadistic" domestic abuse, violence, and controlling behavior inflicted by Palmer on her husband. This abuse included physical assaults, controlling finances, monitoring his phone, and isolating him from family and friends. Her husband was forced to treat his own wounds with household items like glue and cling film. A 15-page victim impact statement detailed the profound and lasting trauma he endured.
In addition to the prison sentence, Palmer was issued an indefinite restraining order prohibiting any contact with her husband. She had no previous convictions prior to this case.
