Jed Grieve, a 33-year-old man from Orpington Avenue, Walker, UK, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Gino Robb, 25, in Byker, Newcastle. Robb sustained stab wounds on Shields Road, Byker, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, and later died in hospital.
Grieve was charged alongside two boys, aged 14 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons. All three were remanded in custody and made their first appearance at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 22, 2026, where they spoke only to confirm their names and no pleas were entered. They were scheduled to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. A timetable for the case was set at Newcastle Crown Court on June 23, 2026, with a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for July 21, 2026, and a provisional trial date set for January 12, 2027.
In a separate, older incident, Jed Grieve was involved in a public order offense in April 2021. He and his brother, John Grieve, were seen fighting with another group of males on Commercial Road, Byker. When police intervened, Jed Grieve became aggressive and was sprayed with PAVA (an incapacitant similar to pepper spray) by officers. Both brothers pleaded guilty to a public order offense at Newcastle Magistrates' Court. At the time, Jed Grieve, then 28, had seven previous offenses on his record. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
