Emmanuel Sakyi
Case Information & Details
Emmanuel Sakyi, 31, of Garraways, Milton Keynes, has been convicted of causing the death of his seven-month-old daughter, Emmanuela, by dangerous driving and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was tried in his absence at Aylesbury Crown Court and found guilty by a unanimous jury on June 29, 2026, after failing to appear in court for his trial and sentencing.
The conviction stems from a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Milton Keynes. Sakyi was driving his grey Peugeot 508 on the wrong side of the road between Bond Avenue and Fenny Lock roundabouts while more than two and a half times over the drink-drive limit. His vehicle collided head-on with a green Fiat 500. Tragically, his daughter, Emmanuela, who was not properly secured in an appropriate child seat, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Following the crash, Sakyi fled the scene but was later arrested. However, he subsequently failed to appear in court and remains wanted by authorities. Thames Valley Police and Crimestoppers have issued appeals for information regarding his whereabouts, with Crimestoppers offering a reward of up to £7,500. A 40-year-old woman from Milton Keynes was arrested on July 2, 2026, on suspicion of assisting an offender in connection with efforts to locate Sakyi, but has since been released under investigation.
Emmanuel Sakyi is described as being of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes, and is approximately 5ft 3ins tall. His driving disqualification is for 18 years. Emmanuela's mother, Ruth Oppong, 34, was also sentenced to one year and nine months' imprisonment, suspended for two years, after being convicted of aiding and abetting causing death by dangerous driving and causing unnecessary suffering or injury to a child.
