Dominique Ellerby, 36, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine. The offenses occurred between November 2025 and March 2026. Ellerby was arrested on March 23, 2026, after police found her sleeping in a shop doorway in Coney Street, York, which she had been using as her address.
During the period of offending, Ellerby's phone sent out numerous bulk messages advertising heroin and cocaine to potential buyers, and she maintained a spreadsheet of sales. A police analyst estimated she made up to £34,970 from these drug deals.
On June 4, 2026, York Crown Court heard details of the case, and the judge, Recorder Paul Reed, adjourned the sentencing until June 23, 2026, to allow probation officers to explore accommodation and rehabilitation options.
On June 23, 2026, at York Crown Court, Recorder Paul Reid sentenced Ellerby to a three-year prison sentence, suspended for two years. This was conditional on her not reoffending, completing 35 days of rehabilitative activities, undertaking a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement with drug tests, and wearing an electronic ankle tag for 12 months. Ellerby had secured new accommodation in Acomb with a "platonic friend."
Previous Burglary Case (2018):
In February 2018, Dominique Ellerby and her brother, Luke Watson Ellerby, were jailed for burgling two homes on Christmas Eve. Dominique Ellerby pleaded guilty to two burglaries and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. The siblings caused £50,000 of damage when they crashed a stolen car into the Rufforth Institute near York. During one burglary, they ripped open Christmas presents and stole family jewelry. Dominique Ellerby was sentenced to three years in prison. Her solicitor stated she was ashamed and remorseful, and had been introduced to crack cocaine for the first time that night.
