Matejewicz denied the charges during a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, but a jury convicted him. He was placed on the sex offenders' register and remanded in custody following his conviction.
Sentence was initially adjourned until June 11 at the High Court in Stirling for a background report and risk assessment. On July 7, 2026, at the High Court in Stirling, Lord Stuart sentenced Matejewicz to an extended sentence of 25 years. This includes 18 years in custody, with the remaining seven years to be served in the community, subject to recall to prison if he re-offends. He was also made subject to non-harassment orders for life in respect of all four rape victims, banning him from contacting or approaching them.
