Arnold Flanagan has been associated with two public criminal cases in the UK.

1. "Crash for Cash" Insurance Fraud (2019)

In December 2019, Arnold Flanagan, then 27 years old and residing in Moreton, Wirral, was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court for his involvement in a "crash for cash" insurance fraud scheme.

• Key Facts: The fraud involved a staged collision on July 21, 2016, near Runcorn, between two vehicles. Flanagan had taken out an insurance policy with LV=General Insurance on June 30, 2016, but cancelled it on July 23, 2016, falsely claiming his Fiat Punto had been stolen. Suspicion arose when a claim was made by another individual, Levi Ireland, whose email address was the same as Flanagan's. Flanagan initially admitted to fraudulently applying for the insurance as he did not have a driving license but denied a conspiracy to commit fraud. However, he later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and fraud by false representation in relation to the inception of the policy with LV= GI on the first day of his trial at Liverpool Crown Court on June 17, 2019.
• Court Decision: On December 2, 2019, Flanagan received a sentence of 22 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to complete 180 hours of community service and a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

2. Harassment Without Violence and Recall to Prison (2026)

More recently, an Arnold Flanagan was scheduled for a first hearing at Liverpool & Knowsley Magistrates' Court on June 23, 2026, for a charge of harassment without violence. The reference for this case is 05A30019826. The hearing was presided over by District Judge (MC) Boswell.

Additionally, as of June 30, 2026, a 34-year-old Arnold Flanagan from Tranmere, described as 6'1" of large build with dark brown hair and blue eyes, is wanted on recall to prison for breaching his license conditions after serving a previous prison sentence. He has links to Upton, Tranmere, and Bromborough.
