Ali Namjo
Case Information & Details
Ali Namjo, a 36-year-old man from Clase, Swansea, UK, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child. The sentence, handed down on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Cardiff Crown Court, comprises 15 years in custody followed by an extended one-year license period. Namjo will also be a registered sex offender for life.
Namjo denied two counts of sexual assault by penetration and one count of common assault but was found guilty following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court in March 2026. During the sentencing hearing, it was revealed that Namjo had sexually assaulted and kissed the young girl, then denied wrongdoing, forcing the victim and her mother to endure a trial. He refused to attend his sentencing hearing and did not hear the victim impact statements read in court. Judge Shomon Khan, who presided over the case, stated that Namjo's actions caused serious psychological harm to the young victim.
In addition to the sexual assault charges, Namjo had previously pleaded guilty to obstructing railway operations. This charge stemmed from an incident in June 2024 when he fled from police in the Wentloog area of Cardiff and hid near railway tracks, causing train delays and an estimated £45,000 in costs.
Public court records indicate several hearings for Ali Namjo at Cardiff Crown Court, including dates on June 6, 2026, and June 8, 2026, with His Honour Judge Khan listed as the magistrate for some proceedings. Prior to these convictions, in October 2024, Ali Namjo, then 35 and from the Cathays area of Cardiff, was wanted by South Wales Police for alleged stalking and breach of bail.
