Abdou Sillah, a 24-year-old man from Birmingham, UK, has been convicted of murder and possession of a bladed article in connection with the fatal stabbing of his 29-year-old housemate, Kiirpal Nhian. The incident occurred on Swanage Road, Small Heath, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 6:40 PM, where Nhian was found with a stab wound to his chest and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Sillah was charged with murder and possession of a knife on December 24, 2025, and was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on December 26, 2025. CCTV footage showed Sillah fleeing the scene shortly after the attack, and he was subsequently arrested a few days later in possession of a knife and wearing clothing matching those seen on CCTV.
Despite pleading not guilty, a jury at Birmingham Crown Court found Abdou Sillah guilty of both murder and possessing a bladed weapon. He is scheduled for sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court on September 28, 2026. The investigation, led by West Midlands Police's homicide unit, involved forensics and surveillance, which revealed Sillah's attempts to conceal evidence and flee.
